SUBJECT: QA HAZARDOUS RECALL – Home Improvement Books Recalled by Oxmoor House Due to Faulty Wiring Instructions; Shock or Fire Hazard to Consumers

Scope: Sold in AAFES Stores between 1998 and 2006

In cooperation with the CPSC, with the firm named below, announced a voluntary recall on the following products as noted.

Name of Product: Home Improvement Books

Hazard: The books contain errors in the technical diagrams and wiring instructions that could lead consumers to incorrectly install or repair electrical wiring, posing an electrical shock or fire hazard to consumers

Incidents/Injuries: None reported

Description: The recall involves nine home improvement books. However AAFES only sold the three titles listed below:

Sold at: Home improvement stores and bookstores nationwide to include AAFES stores through December 2007. AAFES sold the following titles: Sunset Home Repair Handbook (Oct. 1998), Sunset Complete Home Wiring (Dec.1999), and Sunset Complete Patio Book (Jan. 2006).
